New Trailer Shows Acrobatic Angler’s Focus on Movement and Exploration; Publisher Reels in a 2025 Release Window
TORRANCE, Calif., — June 7, 2024 — XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., announced during today’s IGN Live Preshow, that they will publish The Big Catch, a movement-focused 3D platformer inspired by titles from the 5th and 6th generation of consoles, globally on Windows PC via Steam. Kickstarted by developers Filet Group in 2022 and under ongoing development, The Big Catch is eyeing a 2025 release. PC gamers won’t need a fisher’s patience before getting their hands on the game; in addition to being available for wishlisting, the first publicly playable demo is now available to download on Steam as part of the IGN Summer of Gaming!
Attendees at IGN Live will also be able to check The Big Catch out in person at the event, running June 7-9, 2024, at Magic Box @ The Reef in Los Angeles, California.

The Big Catch tells the story of the acrobatic fisherman Caster as he ventures across the world hunting for long-lost secrets and the untold history that’s lying just beneath the surface of his mysterious homeland. Caster works for the esteemed and enigmatic Chef Leurre. Alongside his kinsman and rival, Tackle, they search the vast, barren deserts for ingredients for Leurre and the titular restaurant, The Big Catch. Although a seemingly mundane task, Caster and Tackle’s journey sees them crossing paths with bands of thieves, mysterious beings from another world, corrupt politicians, regretful heretics, forest sprites, and ancient monsters—all in pursuit of the one thing of any true value left in such a wasteland: FISH.
Inspired by the bold creativity of 3D platformers of the 5th and 6th console generations, The Big Catch presents an ambitious story and world to explore with fluid, skill-based action.
