Granblue Fantasy: Versus 1.40 Update Available Now with New Modes and Episodes; Season 2 DLC Characters Belial and Cagliostro Revealed

Partnership with Arc System Works Announced for ARCREVO America Online 2020

Torrance, Calif. – August 8, 2020 – XSEED Games, the independent-minded publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., has announced highly anticipated update details for Granblue Fantasy: Versus, the head-to-head fighter set in the world of Cygames’ hit mobile game, Granblue Fantasy, and developed by legendary fighting game studio ARC SYSTEM WORKS. Available now, the Granblue Fantasy: Versus version 1.40 update includes new “Boss Battle Time Attack” and “GBVS: Blitz” game modes, as well as new RPG mode episodes. Additionally, Season 2 DLC characters Belial and Cagliostro will join the roster. Belial will become available on September 23 (PT) and Cagliostro in October 2020.

XSEED Games is also proud to announce their partnership with ARC SYSTEM WORKS for “ARCREVO America Online 2020”, an online tournament which will feature Granblue Fantasy: Versus and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. Kicking off October 2020, the top two players in Granblue Fantasy: Versus and BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle from each event will have the opportunity to earn an invite to a special America VS Japan exhibition match planned for Spring 2021.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus Ver. 1.40 Update:

In addition to adding new RPG mode episodes which take place after the main story, Granblue Fantasy: Versus Ver. 1.40 will feature two new limited-time game modes:

● Boss Battle Time Attack – Players compete against each other to see who can take down bosses faster

● GBVS: Blitz – A limited time Ranked Battle event

Players will earn a code for 1,000 crystals after clearing episode 45 of the main quest. Start dates for the Boss Battle Time Attack and GBVS: Blitz modes will be announced in-game. GBVS fans should look forward to all of the new content included in this update, such as a fated meeting between Gran and Djeeta and a new primal beast boss battle!

Granblue Fantasy: Versus Season 2 DLC characters will start arriving with Belial on September 23!

The popular Granblue Fantasy villain Belial may fool some players with his deceptively standard moveset, but his unique abilities and tricky neutral fighting style will take down unsuspecting challengers. Cagliostro will join the Season 2 roster in October, with additional details to follow. The Japanese voice actors for Belial and Cagliostro are Yoshimasa Hosoya and Sakura Tange. English language voiceovers will be delayed and won’t be included when the characters release due to issues related to COVID-19.

In partnership with Arc System Works America, Inc., XSEED Games will kick off “ARCREVO America Online 2020” in October 2020 with Granblue Fantasy: Versus,as well as Arc System Works’ BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle.
