XSEED Games Releases New Trailer for ‘Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space’ Showcasing its Frightening Creatures and the Player’s Deadly Arsenal With Which to Combat Them
XSEED Games, the independent-minded console publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., today released an action-packed trailer for Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space showcasing its deadly enemy life and the variety of weapons and vehicles at the player’s disposal with which to combat it. Considered by fans as the “definitive” entry in the series, the PlayStation® Vita handheld entertainment system version of this classic title is the first time Earth Defense Force 2 will be available in North America. Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space will launch with massive improvements worthy of its pedigree—including English voice-overs to keep players focused on the game’s non-stop action, as well as a choice of four-player co-op either online or locally (ad-hoc), with each method providing different levels of difficulty and different weapon selections.
In Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space, players take on the role of an “Infantryman” military soldier armed with conventional weaponry, a “Pale Wing” special ops soldier equipped with a jetpack and armed with energy weapons, or new to this version, an “Air Raider,” who fights indirectly through the strategic placement and dispatch of trip mines, sentry guns, air strikes and more. Players must fend off the invaders in each mission area, either alone or with up to three friends, through frenetic real-time combat inspired by real-life locations.
Developed by D3 Publisher and Sandlot and published by XSEED Games, Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space will launch this fall in North America exclusively for the PS® Vita system. This title has not yet been rated by the ESRB.
