Creative Mastermind behind the “Rune Factory” & “Bokujo Monogatari” Franchises Returns to Bring Duo of Engaging Adventures Set in Two Very Different Worlds to Nintendo 3DS™ Fans this Spring

Torrance, Calif., (February 12, 2015) – XSEED Games, the independent-minded console publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., is happy to announce today that the long-awaited strategy RPG adventure, Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven, is in production for the Nintendo 3DS™ hand-held system and set to see its English-language debut this spring. In tandem, the company is pleased to also confirm that STORY OF SEASONS, the latest iteration in the best-selling Bokujo Monogatari farming/life-sim series, will see a North American release on March 31, 2015, exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS in both physical and digital forms. The game will retail for a suggested retail price of $39.99, and participating retailers are offering a special Angora rabbit “pocket plushie” as a pre-order bonus while supplies last. It will also be available digitally in the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS for $39.99.

Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven is a new game we’re excited to bring back into development, and Story of Seasons will finally be making its return, better than ever,” said Yoshifumi Hashimoto, Producer at Marvelous Inc. “Expectations from our fans are high for both games and my greatest hope is to surpass them.”

Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven

Sometimes one’s path is chosen by fate. Luchs is one such soul, whose peaceful innkeeping days were numbered once he discovered a bracelet known as “Lachryma.” Suddenly accosted by strange fiends, he’s saved by a mysterious faerie encased in crystal whose memories are spotty at best. Luchs decides to help her recover these memories and, in doing so, encounters numerous other faeries just like her, each wielding unique powers and remembering a little more about their storied pasts as the entourage grows. Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven boasts a unique strategic battle system which encourages players to aim their attacks just right in order to “bowl” over as many enemies as possible with a single strike.  Players can also turn the tide of battle by crafting new skills with unique items obtainable through StreetPass registration and participation in Free Battles. With adjustable difficulty levels during gameplay and a fast-forward feature to help speed through cutscenes for battle-hungry players, the customizable experience on offer here promises to leave lasting memories, complemented by in-game movie and art galleries that allow players to review key dramatic moments at will. This title will launch in the spring, and has been rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB. More information will be shared in the coming weeks.

Story of Seasons

STORY OF SEASONS is the beginning of a new chapter in the “Bokujo Monogatari” series, a long-standing and top-selling farming/life simulation franchise. Though the series is reborn with a new name, it continues the well-loved traditions of customizable farms, animal care and relationship-building toward the goal of getting married and starting a family. After creating a customized character, players can live out a new life by cultivating their favorite fruits and vegetables while expanding and filling their farm with their choice of animals. Fans of past games in the series will love the many new additions on display here, including an enhanced variety of seeds, pets, and other ways to make their farms truly their own. But the major addition is the new theme of “connectivity,” as trading with other countries will help grow the player’s crop variety and wallet, as well as the prosperity of the entire town. Players can also connect locally via WiFi to visit one another’s farms and tend crops as a team, expanding both their harvests and their friendships. This game will launch on March 31, 2015 in North America, and has been rated “E10+” for Everyone ages 10 and up by the ESRB.

To celebrate the upcoming releases for both Hashimoto-san titles, XSEED Games has released new trailers and images. The teaser trailer for Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven gives a glimpse into the story of an unsuccessful innkeeper who seeks to weave together the fragmented memories of his newfound faerie companions, each one slowly remembering and sharing her own tale while helping tend his inn. The charming new trailer for STORY OF SEASONS, aptly titled “Too Much Work,” shows the wealth of new and returning activities for players to engage in as they develop relationships, take part in safaris to explore the exotic flora and fauna of the land, make new friends and – of course – tend to their farmland, which overflows with potential for more crops and animals than the series has ever seen before.

Developed in Japan by Marvelous Inc., Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven and STORY OF SEASONS will be published in North America by XSEED Games exclusively for Nintendo 3DS.
