I really like the heart cover set up, in honesty. Looking at everything this is definitely the one of two games in the series i'm interested in now just for a release announcement here and if it can make it in tact.

The problem is will anyone besides IFI pick this up. Probably depends on MMP.

Don't hold your breath. It's true that a while back iFI announced they were looking for a distributor/publisher for the sequel, but the fact of the matter is no one wanted to touch MonMon and once iFI took the leap they forgot to bring a grappling hook and shot themselves in the foot with their edits.

I'd say one in a million.

Best Jim Carrey impression: .......................so you're saying theres a chance!

Well I'm getting Monster Monpiece and I'm hoping someone will localize this and not censor it.

I mean seriously, it's okay to have Valhalla Knights which has dwarfs which can in turn be viewed as loli's be rubbed and then there's Senran Kagura where you can BEAT the cloths off a girl but those are okay? I dunno where the line is drawn here guys.

Anyway, I would love this to be localized, untouched even if PSN release as I love the artist as it's done by Agarest War artist and getting Monster Monpiece as stated.

Both of those titles have drawn criticism for being "over the line" with a number of video game journalism outlets. Obviously since you're getting Monster Monpiece you're not part of that crowd, but on the other hand you (and we) don't know the extent of the fanservice in the title at this time other than knowing what is in Monster Monpiece (censored or not) and a number of assumptions based on what we've seen of Moero Chronicle so far.

I doubt that that "criticism" affected sales in any negative way. They're appealing to a niche that just don't care, even love that stuff.

The negative criticism affects the sales deeply. It basically kills any chance of such games of expanding their audience. The developers don't make games just to sell to the same niche, they make games to sell to the same niche and expand their audience. Non-fans will hardly become interested in a game where every review or comment (positive or negative) is upon fanservicey aspects.

MachineMaiden: You can't tell where the line is drawn because pro-censorship people are inconsistent.

For something in this genre, I'm not sure it does. All it does is bring publicity to the game and make more people aware of it. The people who are going to buy it are going to buy it regardless of the negative criticism. Just like the people who are turned off by fan service won't buy the games even if they are lauded by the media. It's kind of similar to the American porn industry, which is constantly shunned and criticized by mainstream media here. Yet it is a multi-billion-dollar juggernaut that has spread widely into American culture, to the point where more Americans watch porn than sports.

I think we tend to have a biased view of the whose gaming industry through the eyes of a fan. Criticism doesn't generate good publicity to the games. People tend to correlate Kotaku vs Dragon's Crown character designer as an example of criticism bringing publicity to the game, but it is a false correlation. Dragon's Crown has a very good Metacritic score, most of the reviews were very positive, and it was not labeled as a game for fanservice.

In this day and age, there is a large audience that is aware of games like Valhalla Knights 3, Senran Kagura Burst or even Moero Chronicle, but they quickly dismiss them as fanservicey moe crap (even when the game has no moe). That, coupled with less-than-stellar metacritic scores and overall average-to-low reviews kill any chance of the game expanding their audience.

Of course all the criticism does not come from the fanservice in these games, but we know that they make a negative impact in most of the reviews, and it is enhanced by politics taking over media recently. We can't say there is almost no audience for quest-based Action RPGs, JRPGs or Brawlers in the west, and that this extremelly niche audience is already well-aware of the games, so that they won't be affected by criticism.

I am not saying those games would be million sellers without the fanservice criticism, but I am sure many people who would otherwise pick up these games in a sale and might become a fan, are completely driven away by reviewers labeling the games as "pure fanservice" and things like that.

Yes, truely, censorship is an inconsistent thing. My heart dropped when I seen the newest title will be a Senran Kagura one. I got sadden then angered. Lets compair the two, shall we?
First artwork, I would link images but it would take up a lot of pages so I shall just link websites:
First here is art from Senran Kagura:
    http://senpaigamer.c...haracter-update
plus browse some gamefaq screenshots of it

alright, I see alot of NSFW art.
Now Moero Chronicals, here is a website they have up that is showing the monster girls in their costumes:
    http://www.compilehe...oe-chro/pantsu/

As far as I can see BOTH are equally risque.

Now as far as the 'heart' aspect when you rub the monsters, Senran Kagura has their own little take which you can see here:
    http://crimsonhappin...us-ps-vita.html

So riddle me this batman, what is the difference between the two besides:
Senran Kagura = beat cloths off, action game
Moero Chronicle = rub girls, dungeon rpg

ps. I am in no way, shape or form, bashing on Senran Kagura as I own the 3DS version (but never play it to be honest) but I am just a fan that really wants Moero Chronicles localized, uncensored.

Breast size? I dunno. I mean, they're technically all minors (oops, in the DS at least Senran Kagura localization there are no ages so they might not be minors?!?), and the Vita game is pretty darn risque.

It's a shame, I think MM is too expensive for me. I still hope it'll sell great, encouraging IFI to localize this.

Looks like a regular RPG, except for, well, you know, the thing that is the same deal as Monster Monpiece and will mean the game will never leave Japan.
