You mean finishing 55 games? 3h long commute = lots of time to play portable games, that and I either don't play games at all or I play for 5-6h straight. Plus I usually finish games faster than average...

I beat FEAR 2 the other day.

Wasn't as scary as FEAR 1, but there was still some pretty creepy moments and jump scares. The game looked really good despite being ported over to the PC from consoles.

Heh so it's the OTHER cliche of the dog ALMOST dying, a la Homeward Bound, but then comes back in the end.

The dog isn't even involved in the endgame, actually.

Anyway, I don't believe in beating my games. I made a topic years ago in the Online section about backlogs. I haven't updated my since the beginning of the year, but it's bad, and has only gotten worse.

The Starship Damrey, first thing beat in over two months! It was like some weird mix of Wall-E and... something creepier than Wall-E. I liked it.

Finally had time to add one to the list! I've been playing DN3D slowly over the past 2 months. I love this game! Many different pathways, secrets, upbeat music, no regenerating health, actual level design. I love how you can actually dodge enemy projectiles and that you can move so fast. Oldschool shooters did it right.

Edit- and no awful story with a bunch of annoying dialogue. Just a fun game.

Well this is a interesting topic. I dont tend to complete many games or play games that are "beatable"

    1. Persona 4 golden, beat once and have a fair chunk of trophies (57% second play through)
    2. DmC: Devil May Cry ( the hardest default difficulty)
    3. Project Gotham Racing 3 ( Got at least a gold medal on every race and unlocked 80% of cars )
    4. Ryse ( Beat it and am working on my 1000/1000 achievements )

Im working on a 50% in Forza 5 and I intend to beat ys celceta and Dead Rising 3.

I bought a ton of games this year but, thats just to inflate my 360 library while games are cheap. Think i've got something like 200 games for the system. I lost count.

I haven't played that much this year. You can see my finished games in my signatures. There are two games I dropped. Spyro season of ice (total troll unplayable) and FFXII same thing.

Not my favorite Castlevania, but it is good. Out of the classic style Castlevanias I feel that III, Rondo, and Bloodlines top it in the gameplay department. The 8-way whip was cool at the time but it is too versatile, and makes some enemy encounters a little too easy. It still is a great game though. IV is gorgeous, especially considering how early in the SNES's life cycle it came out. It certainly reminds me that the teams at Konami were arcade masters at the time. The jazzy, moody soundtrack is not something you would expect of the series, especially today, but it somehow fits, and it is a great showpiece for the SNES soundchip.

    Dead Rising

So, after buying this game some years ago, getting frustrated, selling said game, and then rebuying it a couple of weeks ago, I have finally completely finished Dead Rising, save for the achievements. I got the true ending and what not, clearing all the cases and all the story there was to be found while rescuing... at least a good number of the survivors. I had to restart once though, which gave me a bit of an edge. I ended up at level 46 with every skill, and only a couple of stat points missing (one in everything but speed).

SO, well, there is a lot I could say about the game really, but I suppose I should address one thing first.

The game is actually REALLY good. Yes, the time thing can be a little frustrating, especially if you are a perfectionist, or are going for certain achievements (and I will admit, one achievement where you have to play for 14 hours straight is FREAKING STUPID), but it is never THAT bad, and if you screw up, you can save everything that you earned, and restart with an easier time, and the knowledge from the previous run so you can speed up. I never knew that this existed when I first played the game, so for me, it was very frustrating, because I kept restarting from the beginning at level 1. This made me judge the game way to harshly, and I regret that, but hey, t least I got back to it and found out what I was missing.

Anyways, this one feature that I missed really re balances the entire game. If you ever run into trouble, you can get a no penalty boost, and try again with an easier time. With this in the mind, the game becomes SO much more fun, and so much less frustrating! Sure, you have to go through the game again to get back to the point where you were, but it's not SO bad. It let's you fix mistakes you may have made, and the game itself is not very long, so it should not take that long to get back to where you were. Which is a good thing! The game is very replayable, having 5 endings and a lot of achievements to unlock. A longer length would detract from that repayability, and would make the restart feature not as good as it is.

Now, you might be thinking: "So what? That's good for some people, but I don't want to ever even screw up! I want a perfect run through!" Well, I can understand that... the first time someone died on me, I was at a loss, and not sure if I should reset or not. :/ But I think this game can teach something interesting, which is the ability to accept failure. That might sound pretty bad, but people aren't perfect. Perfectionism is a very annoying trait to have, putting so much pressure on yourself, and being able to accept "well, not everything is in my control, I can't do everything right now, let's be happy with what there is, and with the moment" is... well, I think it is nice. It takes a load off your shoulders, and lets you just embrace the fun of now. This probably sounds really dumb, it is late, and I want to get this out, but I probably do not have the right words. X3 Interesting though, I have talked with Ivy about dealing with perfectionism in the past, she she also recommended playing this game... interesting...

Anyways, moving on from that, there are a few other common complaints I feel the need to address. First is the aiming controls, and I have to ask what was everyone's problem with them? They were a bit wonky at first, but soon I was using guns like a pro. Did people just give up soon, or is there something I am missing? Either way, I found them to work just fine. Not perfect, but the worked.

As for the survivor AI... well, honestly, I really can't refute that one. X3 Yeah, it sucks. Interesting that some survivors have better AI than others, and that some can actually be very useful fighters, but some of them are just awful at everything, even following orders. The worst thing is when they would get stuck on something and eat up your time because of their own stupidity! Grr, that could get so frustrating! SO, yeah... really glad that they fixed that in the sequel, from what I hear, but I have to agree with the complaints this time.

Anyways, well, I suppose that is all there is too it. :3 There is a lot more to the game than what you see on the surface. There is just SO much to do, to try, so many challenges, so many ways to play the game. It's also nice when you can just stop following the paths and mess around, killing zombies however you want, and just having fun. I also really enjoy how the game rewards you for following all the cases and not missing them, but I will not go into to much detail there, other than that there is an extended "true" ending path if you play diligently.

So, I just think that this is a really good game, with a lot to offer, and one that could appeal to anyone due to the many ways that it can be played. :3 And I just wanted to share.

...That came out long. X3 Aw well, if I intend to run a gaming blog or two, I should get some practice in. Sorry for the crap if it turns out I typed a bunch of nonsense. X3
