School is Back in Session! Good and Evil Shinobi Alike Take on New and Returning Rivals in High-Flying 3D Action Brawler
Torrance, Calif., (October 14, 2014) – XSEED Games, the independent-minded console publishing brand of Marvelous USA, Inc., today announced that the 3D action title, SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS, has launched in North America for the PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system. Buxom, brawny and never boring, the girls of the good and evil shinobi schools return with their humorous, nonstop over-the-top fighting style to take down longtime foes and newfound adversaries!
SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS directly follows the events of SENRAN KAGURA Burst, revisiting the fierce rivalry between the girls of Hanzō National Academy and their sworn enemies from Hebijo Clandestine Girls’ Academy, the latter of whom have now gone underground and formed a mercenary strike team known as the Homura Crimson Squad. Both sets of girls must also face a whole new set of foes: the students of Gessen Girls’ Academy, a good shinobi school dedicated to completely eradicating all evil and all who willingly fraternize with evil. Meanwhile, a new class is in session at Hebijo, and these students mean business: they oppose all three of the competing factions and will stop at nothing to be the last shinobi squad standing – even if it means leaving broken bodies and shattered dreams in their wake.
Throughout SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS, players will take control of characters from each of these teams, experiencing the narrative from four distinct viewpoints via the original Japanese voice track coupled with English subtitles.
SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS shifts from the side-scrolling action of Burst to full 3D battles, and fans can expect to find more of all of SENRAN KAGURA’s hallmark features – ridiculous mid-air combos, outrageous humor and revealing Secret Ninja Art techniques. The base game features 20 unique shinobi fighters for players to master, each with her own unique weapons, techniques and special moves, while Secret Ninja Arts can be exploited to change costumes and power up mid-battle. On top of the single-player game, up to four players can battle online or via ad-hoc connection to determine which shinobi is the best of them all.
Developed by Tamsoft together with Marvelous Inc. of Japan for the PS®Vita, SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUSis published by XSEED Games in North America. Fans can indulge themselves with the limited run ‘Let’s Get Physical’ edition, which includes the game card, a 39-track CD packed with musical selections from SHINOVI VERSUS’ high-energy soundtrack, and a 144-page ‘Shinobi Syllabus’ containing artwork and character profiles with winning strategies, at a suggested retail price of $49.99.
